Sometimes, I wonder is it possible to fool a telepath? We're suppose to be these great studies of human nature, yet without our powers, we have nothing. And I don't like it.

I honestly don't know why I'm posting, but the thought just occured and well, I'm still awake pondering the meaning of life.

Jamie, I was also wondering if you've received my gift, yet? I'm sorry I was unable to give this to you formally, but I hope that you won't be too crossed with me.

It's possible to fool ourselves. We do it all the time. If it's this easy to get fooled from the inside... well, you know where I'm going with it. It's telepathy, not transparency, and it's certainly not omniscience.

Granted, telepaths are not all-knowing, but the feeling is pretty damn close. And sometimes, and I mean sometimes, we forget that fine distinction.

With ourselves, we can get lost in our own mind with ease. Yet, to truly observe another person's thoughts does allow for some objectivity. After long, we start to understand the basis for human complusion and it becomes harder to fool us. Though, I do wish sometimes that we'd have less of the transparency and more of the omniscience, so as to spare us as much grief as possible.

Yeah, I did. Wow! Thanks! Are two words that are completely not strong enough. It's one of the coolest things anybody's ever done for me, don't worry about it being late, I don't have my license yet anyway--ooh, I need to go ask Ms. Blaire if she can take me driving this weekend, the more I practice the quicker I can get it. Thanks so much!

Some of the things Ms. Frost showed us in the psychic defense class were sort of like fooling telepaths, but I don't know if that's what you meant. Sometimes I think it'd be really nice to be able to show somebody what you really think, or feel, but mostly it seems like it'd make things harder, not easier. Which I guess you'd already know about.

Thanks again for the awesome present. :)

I'm so glad you like it, just be careful on the tracks. I'd rather not be responsible for a student's demise, thank you.

You are right, it is harder to be able to know a person's feelings and at the same time try and not invade their privacy. It becomes a very tricky thing, but you learn how to navigate around it soon enough.

No testing for air bags. Got it. :)

I've never been nervous about you or Ms. Frost or the Professor being in my head, except right at first in the psychic defense seminar, and that was because I knew she would be, not because I thought she might be, you know? And even then it was I wasn't sure what I might think about accidentally, not what she'd specifically go looking for. People who'd be unethical with telepathy would be unethical anyway, I figure.
