Upcoming Term and Assignments
Jun. 2nd, 2003 06:17 pmI have received all submissions in regards to the Writing Challenge. I used these submissions as a way to gauge students skill level. And to provoke a creative spark within some of you, who wouldn't be likely to do so otherwise. I've divided the course into various degrees, depending on talent and previous writing experience.
Beginner's Creative Writing will be for students without prior writing experience and show great promise, but need to learn some developmental skills before moving forward. Intermediate Writing will also be for students who have not taken a writing course, but show a firmer grasp of language and skill. The advanced course is mostly for graduate students and they will study various writing styles of popular authors and take an in depth look at the author's motivations.
Those accepted for next terms course are as follows:
Beginning Level:
Everett Thomas
Sarah Morlocke
Rahne Sinclair
Marie-Ange Colbert
Lorna Dane
Intermediate Level:
Jonothon Starsmore
Theresa Cassidy
Jamie Madrox
Katherine Pryde
Jubilation Lee
Advanced Level:
Alison Blaire
Samuel Guthrie
Marie D'Ancato
Piotr Rasputin
St. John Allerdyce
Warren Worthington III
If you do not see your name listed and wish to attend, please let me know as soon as possible. If you have not expressed an interest in the class, but see your name listed, I suggest you find the time in your schedule next term.
Mutant Acceptance in Society is also a class that will be offered next term. Unfortunately, this course is not an elective. With the rapid changing of public opinion, many of the staff believe this course an absolute must.
I realize that it will be hard for many of you, especially since some have not had the glorius opportunity to experience Mutant biases firsthand. And certain topics discussed will be disturbing to say the least.
I've accepted all these facts and know that by the end of term, many of you will have a great dislike for the simple truths that are presented throughout the course. But make no mistake, I will not accept your lack of attendance or participation.
I also suggest that many of you start paying attention to the bulletin board for updates, as normal course work will be starting sooner than you think.
